BIO

Rainy Kerwin is the award-winning, writer-director of the female buddy comedy, “The Wedding Invitation” (2017), which racked up six wins and two nominations. Rainy is an actors’ director and has coached and directed over 1,000 actors. Her scripts have been shortlisted for the Meryl Streep Women In Film Lab and the PGA Proshow Awards, have twice been a top 12% of The Nicholl Fellowship and garnered a $500K grant from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund. She is the founder of the production company It’s Raining Films. A lover of all things funny, Rainy is known as a bit of a prankster.

BIO

Mary-Lyn Chambers is an award-winning filmmaker born in Suva, Fiji, and raised in Wellington, New Zealand. As a writer/director, Chambers has made four short films: The Twenty-Seventh Hour, The Rain Has Forgotten Us, Debris (Escombros) and The Plural of Blood. She is a Directing Fellow in both the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program and Film Independent’s diversity mentorship program: Project Involve. In 2016/2017 she was short-listed for the AFI Directing Workshop for Women and the WB Emerging Film Directors Workshop.

Her short film exploring child refugees, Debris (Escombros), was screened in three programs during the 2016 Cannes Film Festival and traveled to festivals in Canada, Iran, the US and the UK. The film won several awards including “Best International Short” at the Manchester International Film Festival, “Best Dramatic Short” from the 2016 Alliance of Women in Media Genii Awards, “Best Screenplay” at the Largo Film Awards, “3rd Prize in Drama” at the United Latino International Film Festival, “Best Female Director” at the Hollyshorts Film Festival and “Honorable Mention” at the Ojai Film Festival.

Her new film, The Plural of Blood, is just beginning the festival circuit and already winning awards. The film explores the complex strain and texture as a mixed-race police family comes to terms with the shooting of an unarmed boy.

She is currently developing her first feature film set in modern-day Qatar and an episodic concept set in 1920’s Tijuana.

Chambers strives to hire women and minorities in leadership roles while tackling stories in the social justice/effecting-change space. She has spent several years working for Film Independent’s Spirit Awards, the Los Angeles Film Festival and many prestigious film festivals. She resides in Los Angeles, California and maintains strong ties to New Zealand and Qatar.

She’s holds memberships at AWD: Alliance of Women Directors; Film Independent; Film Powered and Women In Media.

BIO

Beatrix Guedes is a film maker and Chief Creative Officer of MOONLANDER STUDIOS. She has directed and produced award winning films, documentaries, music videos, commercials, scripted and unscripted series for various tv networks. In 2005 Beatrix started her production house SELVA, building a creative network with film and TV professionals worldwide to create, develop and produce compelling content across diverse genres for multiple platforms. In 2016 she moved permanently to Los Angeles and founded the production company MOONLANDER STUDIOS.

In the last 3 years Beatrix has developed 2 feature films, 1 feature documentary, 1 scripted and 3 unscripted TV series, and shot 2 short films. Her feature film “Crystalina’’ script was finalist at the 2017 Tribeca Film Institute / Sloan Fund, NY. Her fiction tv series “Stories from the Interlude” was optioned to be co-produced by 2 production companies in Los Angeles. Her second feature film “The Caterpillar“ will be co-produced by Planet, in Venice, CA. And her documentary “Partying to Revolution” part II is currently in production.

TOY LEI has had a fascination with action films ever since her parents took her to Chinatown as a kid. They watched kung-fu movies every Saturday afternoon. After lamenting the lack of roles for Asian females over 30, she began writing, directing and producing her own projects. Her directorial debut, THE WEDDING, won her the Top 5 Women Filmmakers award from the Asian-American Film Lab and New York Women in Film and Television. BOXER, opened its fest run at the coveted Etheria Film Night and won Best Action in addition to several other awards. Her latest short, HOW TO GET CAUGHT, has just started its fest run and already winning Awards of Merit for Short Film and Leading Actress. Deena Dill co-founded the Get It Girl initiative and is an award-winning creator, executive producer, and writer of both unscripted and scripted content, as well as an actress with extensive TV and film credits. Deena is a member of the PGA, SAG, WGA, and WIF.

Deena co-created, executive produced, and wrote on The CW’s hit, prime-time game show Oh Sit!, which was produced by The Gurin Company and 405 Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television. Milf Money, the spec tv pilot Deena executive produced, won 10 film festivals.  Additionally, she wrote and produced Perfectly You, syndicated in 60+ domestic markets, and wrote, produced, and hosted DocFest for the Documentary Channel.

Deena’s production company, Bonfire Entertainment, strives to create a diverse slate of scripted and unscripted projects that engage, inspire, inform and entertain.

After earning her BFA in stage directing and acting at NYU and Playwrights Horizons, Adria Tennor pursued a career as an actor, working regularly in television and film, most notably recurring on AMC’s Mad Men as well as in the Academy Award winning film, The Artist. Tennor began writing stand up to give herself more opportunity to perform, before spinning her material into a rave-reviewed solo show, StripSearch, about finding love and happiness with the help of a 12 foot pole. Her directorial debut, Cracked, garnered awards and laurels around the country, while her first feature script won her a 2016 CineStory Fellowship and finalist status in several screenplay competitions around the country. Tennor also owns and operates four restaurants in Los Angeles with her husband/partner, Claudio Blotta: All’Acqua, Côté Est, Market Provisions and barbrix which was named Best Wine Bar in LA by LA Magazine.
