Our inaugural GET IT GIRL event was a HUGE success with 24 female content creators presenting their best content clips for an audience of almost 100 industry professionals. It was a great night and a fabulous party.

Our Mission

The Get It Girl event provides a fun, practical and proactive platform to create equality through opportunity.

Get It Girl shines the spotlight on 20-25 award-winning female content creators who will share one-minute reels of their current projects with our invited industry executives, ask for what they need to help make their projects viable, and mingle with the industry executives who have the power to make those things happen, all in a relaxed creative atmosphere. Everyone benefits.

We are proud to say, there is no submission or participation fee for the creators, and Get It Girl projects range from drama, comedy, documentary, film, TV, to digital series, virtual reality and more.

About Us

René Ashton

Actress / Writer / Producer / Director

René Ashton is an award-winning actor, writer, producer, and director. Ashton’s acting passion and talent have landed her more than 100 commercials and dozens of television shows including Westworld, Ray Donovan, NCIS, Jane the Virgin, CSI…

As a writer, René’s first feature film, the romantic comedy, BE MY BABY starring herself and Lacey Chabert, aired on the TV Guide channel for three years and is available on DVD and television worldwide. In 2010, she had three feature films optioned, which lead her to form her own production company, Abundant Media, LLC.

Since then, René has written, as well as produced, three award-winning spec television pilots/short films. ACTORS ANONYMOUS, starring René, Sally Kirkland and Lorenzo Lamas won the 3 festivals entered, including an offer for a development deal with VH1. MILF MONEY, starring René, Missi Pyle, and Deena Dill won 10 out of 13 festivals entered. SPERM DONOR stars Alan Thicke, Missi Pyle, David Liesure, Simon Rex, and René.

René recently began directing her own material. Her horror short film/proof of concept, THE CANDLE, has garnered René 3 best director wins at film festivals and won 18 festivals in 9 countries to date. René just completed the feature script and is currently shopping THE CANDLE franchise.

In addition to scripts, René has taken another direction with her writing skills by penning two non-fiction books. LIGHTS, CAMERA… YOU! Richard Joel

Executive Producer / Producer

Richard Joel is the President and founder of 405 Productions Inc. He is an award-winning, TV Creator/Writer/Executive Producer & Film Producer. He has worked in all areas of production and development and brings a strong business and creative process to all sides of this business including the creation of original formats, competition & game shows and scripted TV & film.

Richard began his producing career with his first short film, “Foursome,” and his first feature, “Wild Heirs.” In 2003, he met the President of Wildrice Productions and was recruited for their development team. He quickly rose through the ranks to become Head of Alternative TV Development & Production. There, he created, developed and sold an array projects to multiple cable networks. In addition, he created and sold an original game show format called, Heads or Tails, to Eyeworks USA, which aired in the UK with 11 Primetime Episodes. Next, he served as Head of Alternative TV Development & Production for Muse Entertainment, USA.

From there, Richard founded his own production company, 405 Productions Inc. Conceived as a boutique production house and development shingle by creating original formats, competition and game shows. Out of the gate, he co-created with Deena Dill, the hit CW game show and 2013 Rose D’or winner, “Oh Sit!,” where he served as Creator, Executive Producer and Writer on the hit series. The format is currently selling worldwide.

He is quickly expanding 405 Productions and the Richard Joel brands with unscripted and scripted content for film & TV domestically and internationally. He produced 13 episodes of “Tainted Dreams,” a 2014 and 2017 Daytime Emmy Nominated scripted series currently airing on Amazon, and he recently co-produced the multi-award winning short film / feature-proof of concept, “The Candle” with René Ashton, screening in more than 35 film festivals domestically & internationally. Richard graduated Arizona State University with a B.S in Business and is a member of the WGA, PGA and SAG-AFTRA.

Deena Dill

Executive Producer / Creator / Writer / Actress

Deena Dill is an award-winning creator, executive producer, and writer of both unscripted and scripted content, as well as an actress with extensive TV and film credits. She is a member of the Producers Guild of America, Screen Actors Guild, Writers Guild of America, and Women in Film.

Deena created, executive produced, and wrote on The CW’s hit, hour-long, prime-time game show Oh Sit!, along side Richard Joel and Phil Gurin. Oh Sit! won the prestigious Rose d’Or Award for Best International Game Show and is currently selling worldwide through Global Road Entertainment.

Previously, Deena produced and wrote both Perfectly You, a syndicated magazine style health show that sold into over 60 domestic markets and the Documentary Channel’s series DocFest that focused on the documentary film festival scene. She executive produced the tv pilot Milf Money, which was awarded Best Pilot/Short Film at 10 out of 13 film festivals. Currently, Deena has projects she created in various stages of development for both domestic and international production with Ping Pong Productions and The Gurin Company.

Deena has recently gone into development on a feature film based on The New York Times Best Seller and Entertainment Weekly yearly preview “Chart Topper,” Strong Inside, to which she has exclusive rights.

As an actress, Deena has an extensive list of credits including recurring roles on ABC’s Suburgatory, Nickelodeon’s iCarly, and The CW’s sci-fi drama, Star-Crossed. A few of Deena’s other acting credits include: Dirty Grandpa, Vice Principals, Scandal, Two and a Half Men, Bones, 24, and CSI:NYl.

Deena graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University where she ran Division I track. In addition to cofounding the Get It Girl initiative, Deena is an active volunteer for the NEA’s Read Across America program and the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, and she is on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Special Olympics.
